WARRINGTON’S £10.6 million New Leaf project has welcomed aboard four new partners.
The three-year project, led by Golden Gates Housing Trust (GGHT), aims to change the lives of thousands of people, bringing together a diverse range of organisations from across Warrington and Cheshire to help and support those who have previously found securing and sustaining a job difficult.
Joining the programme are four leading experts in their individual fields – Warrington Youth Club, the Youth Federation, PSS (Person Shaped Support) and SUSO (Speaking Up, Speaking Out).
Warrington Youth Club and the Youth Federation will help young people aged 16-25 who are currently experiencing complex and multiple barriers. PSS will help women referred to them through the police service and help to turn their lives around through education, training and employment.
Meanwhile SUSO will be supporting people with a learning disability or additional needs, by providing programmes of classed-based training followed by six-week work placements with local employers.
Andy Rawlins, New Leaf programme manager, said: “We’re thrilled to be welcoming such a wealth of expertise to the project. These four organisations bring with them really specialist advice, information and opportunities for our growing number of participants.”
The scheme will run until October next year and is part of the Building Better Opportunities programme funded by the European Social Fund and the National Lottery, through the Big Lottery Fund.
