VIDEO: Interview with Wolves’ Chief Executive Roger Draper, who says Warrington fans are set to be outnumbered almost 2-1 at Wembley.
Ticket sales for Warrington fans are between 12,500-13,000, while Hull are expected to have nearer 25,000 at the showpiece final on Saturday.
With Hull being a bigger place and never having won at Wembley, compared to Warrington’s three recent successes, Draper admits excitement about the club’s return to Wembley, is somewhat less than 2009 – but will still be a fantastic day, worth around £250,000 for the club.
Despite Wolves’ supporters being outnumbered it is still set to be one of the largest crowds for a Rugby League final in recent years, at around 82,000 and Draper believes Warrington fans will be in fine voice, as the best fans in the league, especially if Warrington win.
Draper, who spent four years of his life helping deliver Wembley Stadium as CEO of Sport England, also provides an update on the 300 point plan he launched when he arrived at the club 18 months ago and although there have been significant improvement there is still work to be done, although club membership is up significantly and success on the pitch has seen increased gates.
