Cycling to Buxton – to bring back some water

0

A GROUP of cyclists will leave Culcheth tomorrow morning on a 100-mile ride to Buxton and back to raise money for vitally needed drinking water in Bangladesh.
The significance of the 100 miles is that it represents the long distance many people in Bangladesh have to travel to obtain clean drinking water.
Starting from the Raj restaurant in Common Lane, the route will be via the steep, winding Cat and Fiddle road.
The initiative arises from a partnership between locally-based charity the Epiphany Trust, the Raj and the Tauri Foundation in Bangladesh.
Sharon Ainscough, deputy director of the Epiphany Trust, said: “This trip is to represent the long distances many people have to travel to get clean drinking water. The funds raised from this event will go towards digging wells in rural villages of Bangladesh. Our target for 2016 is to dig 80 wells at the cost of £20,000.”
