Marathon man returns to town on 10,000-mile run

A MAN attempting to run 401 marathons in 401 consecutive days will return to Warrington next month as part of his epic challenge.
Ben Smith first visited the town in January when he was joined by more than 40 Warrington runners to complete his 129th marathon.
The run took Ben on a loop of the town on a route designed by Warrington Running Club to show off all the fantastic running opportunities that Warrington has to offer.
Ben, from Bristol, enjoyed his time in Warrington so much that he’s coming back to run his 214th marathon in the town on Friday April 1 and is inviting residents to help him complete the race.
School and community groups, runners, walkers and joggers are being encouraged by leisure and lifestyle providers LiveWire to help Ben complete all or part of his second Warrington race which will start with a 2km lap of Orford Park at 9.45am.
The 33-year-old, who was bullied as a child, is attempting to break the World Record for the most marathons ran consecutively to raise money for charities Kidscape and Stonewall who work tirelessly to combat bullying in schools and society.
Ben’s challenge began in his hometown last September with marathon number one and he has so far covered a distance of 5,371 in different locations across the UK including Manchester and Liverpool. If he finishes all 401 marathons he will have ran 10,586 miles in just over 13 months.
