THEATRE fans gathered to watch Creative Remedies show off their skills at their annual summer performance.

Creative Remedies is a programme of arts activities aimed to improve the health and wellbeing of Warrington residents over the age of 18, with mental health needs.

The production, held at the Pyramid Centre, showcased a range of fantastic acting, writing, and musical talents and included two plays written by the group themselves as well as a shortened version of Willy Russell’s “Our Day Out”.

The group put on the show to over 50 family members and friends and a great time was had by all.

The Mayor of Warrington, Cllr Geoff Settle, attended the event along with Cllr Pat Wright, executive board member for statutory health and adult social care.

Mike Hill, a member of Creative Remedies, who took part on the day, said: “It made me feel humbled and privileged that so many people give their time and resources to the project. I was proud of everyone in our team and everybody gave 100%.

“It brought us all closer as a group, and many lasting friendships were formed. I can’t wait start on the next production in September and welcome new people into our group.”

Cllr Pat Wright, said: “I was delighted to be invited to the show as they’re always a pleasure to attend.

“Creative Remedies is an incredibly vital organisation whose work has such a positive impact on the lives of some of our most vulnerable residents with mental health needs.

“I really enjoyed the afternoon and it was great to see the confidence of the individuals developed through Creative Remedies really shining through in their performance.

“I would like to personally thank the staff and service users for always putting on a great show!”

Activities in the Creative Remedies programme include performing arts, music groups and digital photography. They are all free of charge with equipment and tutors provided.
