Record breaking VPX “best yet!”

WARRINGTON’S annual Victoria Park Experience (VPX) event got of to a great start this year with a record attendance yet again, with an estimated 1500 children turning up and joining in the fun.

The event, now in it’s 8th year, is completely free and is aimed to encourage children to take part in activities they may not usually try.

VPX is run by local PCSO’s Tony Spruce and Tom Reid and Paul Flannery from Livewire with various activities taking place during an action packed day.

New additions this year included a music workshop and sweat gym challenge for adults and
kids alongside the usual football, rugby , athletics, basketball, bouncy castles, archery, rugby minis for the little ones and climbing wall and even visits from various Disney Characters and much much more.

Tony said he was “overwhelmed at the response” again this year and the positive feedback.

Comments included “Such a brilliant day at VPX today, the kids loved it. So many things to do and all for free – perfect for keeping the kids entertained. Thank you Tony, Paul and the VPX team for all your hard work – it was the best yet!”

Another visitor said: “We’ve had a very fun day today thank you to everyone involved! A special
thanks to the very lovely man running the baseball pitching- he was so patient and helpful with everyone including the little ones! And even let me have a go! See you all next week.”

Liz Roughley posted on Facebook  “Brilliant day, brought 5 children of mixed ages and they all loved it! We ended up staying all day, thank you to everyone who organised it and all the companies that were there.”

Tony added: “A huge thank you to all the providers who support us and to Cheshire Fire and Cheshire police and Livewire for making it happen and our awesome volunteers.

VPX is back every Tuesday in August from 11-4pm and is all free at Victoria Park, Warrington.
