THE energy solutions team at Warrington’s Golden Gates Housing Trust is celebrating after scooping a top award for gas safety at the Morgan and Lambert gas safety conference.
The team won the award for “Innovation” at the conference at Cranage Hall, Holmes Chapel, Cheshire.
The awards, which highlight social housing organisations who go the extra mile to ensure they comply thoroughly with gas regulations, praised GGHT’s innovative approach to gaining 100 per cent gas compliance over the last 14 months. The Trust utilise the latest technology such as “talking tickets” being attached to offenders’ doors to warn them of the dangers of not allowing access.
Additionally, GGHT’s neighbourhood officers can use their iPADs to instantly notify the Trust’s gas servicing contractor, Sure, when a customer is at home and available for an appointment.
The Trust’s innovative approach has also been recognised by other housing associations, who are keen to see the practice and approach GGHT adopts.
Morgan Lambert has become one of the industry’s most experienced gas audit providers. They provide a comprehensive package of services designed to assist social housing providers in managing their gas activities, fulfilling their duties as a landlord and maintaining compliance with the regulatory codes.
GGHT chairman Roy Smith said: “As a landlord, by law, we must make sure that all gas appliances, gas piping and flues in our homes are well maintained and safe and this award recognises how seriously we take this. It really is a whole team approach for the way GGHT go about gas servicing and safety. I would like to particularly thank GGHT’s neighbourhood officers and Sure for allowing us to achieve this award.”
