FIRE crews helped a man from his smokefilled home at Warrington early today.
The fire – which involved clothing around a gas fire – was at a property in Kentmere Place. Fire engines from Warrington and Stockton Heath attended.
A smoke alarm alerted neighbours who raised the alarm and when firefighters reached the scene the man was at the front door and had to be escorted to safety.
He was taken to hospital by ambulance after being given first aid by firefighters.
A ventilation unit was used to clear smoke from the property.
