TRAFFIC chaos is likely when temporary traffic bans are introduced on two busy roads at Lymm for up to a month while road humps are being introduced.
The temporary prohibition of driving order will affect Cherry Lane and Elm Tree Road throughout their lengths.
At the same time, the one-way traffic order affecting Cherry Lane from its junction with Booths Hill Road to Elm Tree Rad will be suspended.
The order will come into force from Monday, January 19 for up to a month.
Restrictions will be in place as and when signs are in place on site and access will be under the control of the contractor.
An alternative route via Booths Hill Road, Camsley Lane, Stockport Road, Knutsford Road, Cliff Lane and vice versa will be signposted
The works are required to allow for the construction of road humps (speed cushions) and associated carriageway surfacing.
Elm Tree Road was affected by similar restrictions recently while work was carried out on underground pipes and resulted in lengthy queues affecting both Elm Tree Road and Cherry Lane at peak periods.
Traffic ban will lead to chaos
