Legh Street Baths

SUCH nostalgia reading Peter’s article. I too learned how to swim, Mrs Anderson taught me and a pupil from The High School who had polio, my school was Richard Fairclough 54/58.
Every Saturday afternoon from the age of 10 with friends and cousin. Teenagers enjoyed the Saturday dances, Tech. College Dances, Great Times, and wonderful Baths. The pictures brought my youth spent in a great town, great people too. Moved away in 77. But the Saturday afternoon children & family sessions my own daughters learned to swim there too. Such a friendly community spirit. Great article, wonderful memories a bright today, and I’m 73…
Thank you.
