FOUR fire engines were sent to the giant Fiddlers Ferry Power Station, near Warrington after fire broke out.
The blaze involved an oxy-acetylene cylinder close to one of the station’s cooling towers.
Crews from Warrington and Widnes set up a cordon and use main jets to tackle the blaze and cool the cylinder, quickly bringing the fire under control.
After they were satisfied the cylinder no longer posed a risk, firefighters handed the incident over to staff from the power station and left the scene.
No-one was hurt in the incident.
