House in garden plan approved

PLANNING chiefs at Warrington have given the green light for a detached house to be built in the rear garden of a house in Rushgreen Road, Lymm – despite opposition from nearby residents and an objection from the parish council.
Lymm Parish Council objected on the grounds the development was too large for the site, there would be no adequate access for emergency vehicles and a loss of amenity to neighbours.
Neighbours also fears increased traffic problems, overlooking and loss of privacy, loss of light and mature trees and noise and development.
Members of the planning committee heard, however, only one tree – a sycamore – would be removed from the site, an existing Anderson shelter would be removed and the new dwelling would be small in scale.
A single point of access would serve both dwellings and would involve widening the existing access.
