Deadline for energy saving offer

MORE than 350 households in Warrington have until January 13 to accept an offer that could save them an average of £78 a year on energy.
They are the 364 householders who signed up for Collective Switching – an auction between energy companies which enables people to cut costs.
Warrington was one of 70 local authorities in the UK to run a collective switching campaign in a bid to save local people money on their bills. Collectively 54,000 households signed up.
Should households choose to accept the offer and complete the switch they will make an average saving of £78 and some online duel fuel customers could make a saving of up to £107.
Cllr Russ Bowden, the borough council’s lead member for corporate resources and assignments, said: “Residents who signed up will soon get their personal offer letters or emails letting them know if they will be saving against their current deal, and if so, how much money will be going back into their pocket.
“This comes at a time when energy prices, and the strain on household budgets, are on the increase and so this will be a welcome relief for many as the colder months draw even closer. Especially with Christmas around the corner, any saving on bills is great news and we are delighted so many residents are going to be able to save money.”
Offer letters and emails have been sent out and householders now have to accept the offer – by the deadline of January 13.
