A CHRISTMAS card is being sent to every household in Penketh inviting them to a community carol service in the village.
The service will be around the 25ft tall community Christmas Tree at the Honiton Way shopping centre at 6.30pm on Saturday, December 21.
It’s the first time in a generation that Penketh has had its own Christmas Tree – and it is getting local people into the Christmas spirit.
Cllr David Keane, chairman of Penketh Events Committee said: “I’m delighted with the response we have had so far from local residents but also from local businesses and organisations.
“Wherever we have asked for help doors have been wide open with Christmas spirit. This is a real community effort, involving our local churches, schools and community organisations. I have to give a big thank you to our partners, Urban Builders and MK Electrical, for putting up our tree, Penketh Fencing for assisting with supplies, Penketh Parish Council who have supported us with funding and the assistance of Livewire and Warrington Borough Council.
“Fiddlers Ferry Power Station have been of tremendous assistance, supporting our Christmas Card and Community Carol service.
These events are all about bringing our community together as one. All will be very welcome at the carol service which promises a surprise or two!”

A Christmas card for everyone…

Does this nice bit of PR mean that everything is perfect in the Parish Council area and they have run out of other things to spend their money on?
