Recognising carer's rights

CARERS in Warrington visited Wired adult and young carers services to mark Carers Rights Day.
The theme for THE day was “rights, advice, support” with a focus on ensuring carers understand their rights and get access to good quality advice that can support them to care.
Warrington Borough Council’s lead member for health, wellbeing and adult
services, Cllr Pat Wright, called into the centre to chat to carers.
She said: “Carers often do not realise that practical support is available, like replacement care to give them time off, help with lifting and bathing, or equipment and home adaptations that can be vital in protecting their health.
“Sometimes carers can be caring for years and not realise their entitlements so we want to put that right. We also want to raise public awareness of the need for carers in Warrington.
“It was great to see so many carers come together to share experiences and it was lovely to chat to them. I hope people in Warrington take advantage of this service and get in touch if they feel like they need more information or support.”
