Seagull rescued from roof

FIRE crews were called out at Warrington – to rescue a seagull from the roof of a vacant town centre store.
The bird was trapped on the roof of the former Boots store in Bridge Street.
An RSPCA inspector was called to the scene after the seagull was spotted but was unable to reach it so called in the fire service.
Firefighters released the bird and handed it over to the RSPCA who took it to a place of safe keeping.
Crews from Stockton Heath Fire Station were called to St Mary Street, Latchford, after a fire was discovered on an embankment.
They used beaters and back packs to extinguish the blaze.
