Beauty queen backs local charities

TEENAGE beauty queen Caitlin Holmes is dedicating her summer to supporting some of Warrington’s local charities.
Caitlin, 15, from Woolston, is taking some time out from her quest to be crowned Miss Teen Great Britain to raise money for her chosen charity, Claire House Hospice – a charity providing care to children with life-threatening diseases.
The teen held a homemade cake and drinks stall at Boteler Outloud festival in July with the help of Warrington Wolves players Chris Riley and Rhys Evans.
She said: “I’m over the moon to be able to support and raise money for charities that are so close to my heart.”
Caitlin has also been volunteering to spend time with the team at the Shannon Bradshaw Community Centre in Penketh and supporting the children and young people at the Play and Sensory Centre in Woolston.
She took part in an event, which included a puppet show, at the Sensory Centre in August, and sold jewellery and cakes to raise funds for the Hospice.
Caitlin added: “Competing in Miss Teen Great Britain has been a fantastic experience so far and has provided a fantastic opportunity to raise greater awareness of all of the hard work that these charities do.”
She will compete in the Miss Teen Great Britain final at The Globe in Blackpool on August 30.
