EXPERIENCED dancers are being sought to take part in an exciting dance project to celebrate the Rugby League World Cup coming to Warrington.
Window on Warrington is a large scale dance project that will welcome “home” team Samoa when they tackle New Zealand on Sunday, October 27.
The event is being organised by Culture Warrington and the Warrington Wolves Foundation.
The dance project, which will also be performed during the Quarter Final match on Sunday November 17, will form part of the “March to the Match”, directing people from the town centre to the Halliwell Jones stadium.
Five dancers experienced in site specific work and outdoor performance are needed.
Auditions will take place on Saturday August 3 from 10am at Pyramid, Palmyra Square South, Warrington.
More than 600 dancers from community groups across Warrington will take part with the choreography influenced by the heritage of Warrington and Samoa with key themes including storytelling, industry and waterways.
Rehearsals are already underway with regular weekend site visits in the town centre.
The next site visit will take place on Sunday August 18 where the public will be able to see the dance taking shape around the Guardians near Bridge Street and Horsemarket Street.
