Wolves make it eight wins in a row

WARRINGTON made it eight wins on the bounce as a strong second half showing saw them overcome Hull KR 34-6 at the Halliwell Jones Stadium.
With Tony Smith resting some key players ahead of next week’s Challenge Cup semi-final against Hull FC, the Wolves still had too much power and strength for the visting Rovers, with their travelling fans once again the centre of attention after a beer bottle and flare were thrown on to the pitch.
Warrington led 12-6 at the end of a tight first half with Brett Hodgson and Mike Cooper crossing for the Wolves and Jordan Cox replying for the visitors.
But Warrington stepped up a gear after the break as the impressive Ben Currie crossed followed quickkly by Chris Riley and Michael Monaghan tries on the hour.
Currie went over again late on to seal an emphatic victory.
But the talking point at the end of the game was the travelling supporters, following the beer bottle and flare throwing incidents.
