Golden chance to play football

GOLDEN Gates Housing Trust (GGHT) have teamed up with Warrington Town Football Club to provide one of their tenants with the chance to play for their home town team.
Residents aged 16 and over who live in a GGHT property are being given an exclusive opportunity to show off their footballing skills to the club’s managers and coaches during a trial day at Cantilever Park on Saturday, July 27.
Anyone showing natural ability will be invited along to take part in round two at a later date and move a step closer to becoming a semi-professional footballer for the club.
GGHT Chair, Roy Smith, (pictured right) said: “It is great to be able to announce the launch of this competition. Our community partnership with Warrington Town FC plays a key role in helping us to promote health and physical activity and has already brought a number of benefits to our tenants and their families. With over 11,000 residents living in our homes we hope that this competition will help the club unearth a star of the future.”
Residents who meet the entry criteria can reserve a place at the trial by contacting the Trust’s Tenant Participation Team free on 0800 25 26 27 or by emailing [email protected] before Monday July 15.
Under the community partnership between GGHT and Warrington Town FC, the Trust’s tenants can also receive discounted admission to all of the club’s home games and reductions in the cost of places on their multi sport camps.
