STUDENTS completing the BTEC Level 2 Contact Centre Operations course at Warrington Collegiate are celebrating 100% success.
Not only have they achieved their qualification but they have also all been either offered employment with Golden Gates Housing Trust and General Insurance Distribution Ltd or gone on to further study and support with Golden Gates Direct.
Delighted Tutor and Course Leader, Mel Cooke said, “All these students were returning to learn, having either been out of work for some time or not been able to find employment after fulltime education. They faced a real challenge as being out of work, even for a short time can be really demoralising and damaging to your confidence.”
A lack of work experience was the barrier that many of the students faced in their bid for employment. The outstanding success of the course has transformed the students’ hopes and dreams giving them a positive outlook for the future.
Mel added, “This is a fantastic result for the students. I remember them as very quiet to start, but as the course progressed and they developed new skills they have grown in confidence and self-belief.”
The students trained in a simulated work environment covering all aspects of Contact Centre work equipping them for work in a wide range of areas from Contact Centres to Telephone Banking and Telesales.
Kirsty Barnes, 22, from Bewsey (pictured right) is thrilled with her new found confidence and telephone consultant role with Golden Gates Leisure, saying, “I’ve really enjoyed the course and made lots of new friends. My interview went really well and I’ve been offered a job which I never dreamed would happen. I would not have achieved this with the help and support of our tutor Mel. Now I’m really excited about starting my new job.”
Sharon Hearn, also from Bewsey found the confidence boost that came with the course was just what she needed saying, “ Before the course I had been unemployed for a number of years bringing up my children so returning to college was a daunting move.
“Mel, our tutor, was very helpful and really committed to helping us gain knowledge and employment in our chosen field. I now have experience as well as references and up to date qualifications which I am really pleased about. I hope to keep studying. Since joining the course we have been interviewed for jobs with Golden Gates Housing Trust and I am really pleased to learn that I have been successful in being taken on within the company. I cannot stress enough how much attending these short courses can help you get back into employment.”
