POLICE have released CCTV footage showing some of the last known moments of missing Warrington teenager Nathan Taylor in the hours leading up to his disappearance on Saturday evening.
The CCTV shows Nathan at the Bridge Bar, Latchford, which is the last confirmed sighting of the 18 year old student from Bruche on Saturday evening, January 26.
Nathan was celebrating a family birthday and can be seen chatting with people at the main entrance.
Search efforts by Cheshire Police and Cheshire Search and Rescue continued into the evening last night in the areas of Latchford and Bruche.
Police divers have also been called in to search the Mersey and canals in the area.
Meanwhile staff and students at Nathan’s college, Warrington Collegiate, are supporting the campaign to find the missing media student through a number of ways which raises the profile of the campaign, in the hope they can jog someone’s memory and get some information about his whereabouts.
All TV screens throughout the college now carry Nathan’s picture together with the police appeal, replacing all other material.
Nathan’s picture and the appeal are being screened across the back wall of The Crescent, the 350 seated dining and leisure area in the centre of the college used by 3000 people on a daily basis.
The police appeal is being handed out at all check out tills in the college which has a daily footfall of 500-600 many of whom come through two or three times.
The college has put the police appeal out on Facebook, has tweeted it and put it on the home page of the website. It is also on the college intranet which is viewed by hundreds of staff on a daily basis.
Police are also in the main reception talking to students and handing out leaflets
Posters of the appeal are being displayed in reception areas, Learning resource centre and other selected locations in the college the college.
The poster is also on the desktop wallpaper on more than 1,000 staff and student computers.
Staff and students who know Nathan and study alongside or teach him have also sent texts and messages to his mobile
Paul Hafren, Principal at Warrington Collegiate says, “We are all desperately concerned about Nathan and are doing all we can to support the search for Nathan. We would like to extend our best wishes to his family at this worrying time. We all hope that he will come back to the college to finish his studies as soon as he can.”
Fiona Baxter, Curriculum Manager for ICT and Media says, “Staff who teach Nathan and his classmates and support workers have been meeting every day to discuss the ways in which we can support the police co-ordinated search. His classmates have been talking to the police about their most recent contact with him and have created a poster themselves which they handed out in Warrington on Monday. They echo the concern expressed by the Principal and Nathan is constantly in their thoughts. They would like his family to know that they are thinking of him and are hoping for his safe return as soon as possible.”
Anyone with any information is asked to contact Cheshire Police on 101.
