School marks end of an era

PUPILS and staff at Warrington’s Sycamore Lane Primary School will be marking the end of an era by turning the clock back to the 1960s.
On Monday January 28 pupils and staff will be swapping usual teaching for a musical history extravaganza and wearing 1960s clothing instead of uniforms.
The day will recognise the 45 years the school has spent on Sycamore Lane before it relocates next month to Chapelford and becomes Chapelford Village Primary School.
Past and present pupils, staff and friends of the school are being invited to visit the school from 2pm – 6.30pm to celebrate and reminisce.
The school has the original log book dating back to 1968 when Sycamore Lane first opened and pupils have produced artwork to share their special memories.
There will be 1960s entertainment and light refreshments will be also available.
Head teacher Joanne Hewson, said: “We do hope that you will be able to pop in and join us on this special celebration day of our school. If you know of any past pupils, staff or friends of the school then please let them know about this event as all are more than welcome to come in and join us.”
For more information about the event, contact the school on 01925 721103 or via [email protected]
