Garden safari will raise money for charity

THE annual Glazebury “Garden Safari”, which raises money for local charities and offers an opportunity to visit 13 beautiful local gardens, takes p[lace on Sunday, September 9.
Organised by local nurseryman, John Bent, from Bents Garden and Home and local garden enthusiast Delia Caswell, the event aims to raise money for two local churches – All Saints and Glazebury Methodist Church.
It is the fifth year the safari has taken place.
Visitors will enjoy broad sweeps of colour, views over the Cheshire countryside and hidden garden “rooms”, as well as rare breed poultry, birds of prey and waterfowl.
Anyone wishing to visit can purchase a programme on the day (£6) or in advance (£5) from Bents Garden and Home, Glazebury Methodist Church or All Saints Church in Glazebury.
The programme, which provides a route map and descriptions of the gardens, will admit two people who can tour the gardens at their leisure between 1.00 and 5.00pm.
Tea and cake will be served throughout the day at Glazebury Methodist Church. Gardens to be open are: Weeping Ash Garden, John Bent (undergoing new developments), 2, Warrington Road, Eric Hampson, The Bungalow, Delia Caswell and John Grundy, 1 Light Oaks Road, Albert and Jean Waterfield, 251 Warrington Road, John and Enid Banner, Moss View, Tommy and Sheila Thompson, Glazebury Methodist Church, Old Cross Keys Cottage, Farley View, Barbara and Colin Mills, Heron’s Reach, All Saints Church, Glazebury, Rev Pat Grey, Wards End Farm, Robert and Janet Woolstencroft and Glazewood House, Andrew and Susan Wood
