Man overcome by smoke

A MAN was given oxygen by firefighters at Warrington after being overcome by smoke after fire broke out at his home.
The blaze was at a house in Marsden Avenue, Westy and was started by an overheated chip pan on a cooker in the kitchen.
Fire crews isolated the electrics and use a large industrial fan to disperse smoke in the property.
They gave oxygen to one man, while awaiting the arrival of the ambulance service. The man was not seriously harmed.
Fire engines from Warrington and Stockton Heath were involved in the operation.
In a separate incident, fire crews from Warrington and Stockton Heath went to Winwick Street, Warrington when fire broke out in the engine compartment of a single decker bus. They used a hose reel jet to extinguish the blaze. No-one was hurt.
