Free school will be leadership academy

WARRINGTON’S first Free School – to open in three week’s time in classrooms formerly used by Bruche Primary School – has received confirmation of its name.
The school is to be known as “King’s Leadership Academy, Warrington.”
The school has also announced a partnership with the Brathay Trust, which will allow all Year 7 pupils the opportunity of a 36-hour residential visit to the renowned leadership centre during their first day at King’s.
The Trust, which is based at Brathay Hall, an impressive 18th century Georgian house at the north end of Windermere, is a registered charity whose mission is to inspire young people to develop the confidence, skills and motivation they need to unlock their potential and further develop their leadership potential.
During their stay at the Trust, each pupil will face one land-based and one water-based leadership challenge.
Meanwhile, classroom furniture for the new school has arrived three weeks ahead of schedule and is in store in readiness for completion of the refurbishment of the classrooms.
All classrooms and academy assembly hall will all be ready in time for the new term.
