GP group names top officers

THE new GP’s group responsible for health care in Warrington has appointed its first officers.
Warrington Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) has named Dr Andrew Davies as chairman, Dr Sarah Baker as accountable officer, and Iain Crossley as chief finance officer.
Dr Davies, a GP at Greenbank Surgery, lives in Chapelford and has worked in Warrington since 1998. He has been providing the CCG with clinical leadership since it was first established.
As chairman he has a key role in ensuring the views of local people are listened to and that the CCG remains responsive to the needs of Warrington patients.
Dr Baker, also lives in Chapelford, is a registered GP, pioneer minister for Chapelford, a patron of Warrington Disability Partnership, a Trustee of ‘Livewire’ and a director of Chapelford Community Centre.
She has been working as accountable officer for the CCG in a delegate capacity since its founding and has more than 20 years experience working at firector level in the NHS, in addition to extensive experience of working in the private and third sectors.
As accountable officer, she is responsible for ensuring that the CCG fulfils its duties to exercise its functions effectively, efficiently and economically, ensuring improvement in the quality of services and the health of the local population while maintaining value for money.
Chief finance officer Iain Crossley will be responsible for financial strategy, financial governance and financial management of the CCG. He is also the deputy accountable officer.
Warrington CCG already has delegated responsibility for the local health budget and will take on formal responsibility in April next year.
