Wanted: memories of Warrington

4

MEMORIES are wanted – from people living in, working in or visiting Warrington.
As part of a bid to the Heritage Lottery Fund to help preserve Warrington’s heritage, and make it accessible, people are being invited to complete a questionnaire detailing their experiences of the town.
The questionnaire will close on Friday June 29 and will be used as evidence to support an application to the Heritage Lottery Fund.
The borough council wants to find out what aspect of Warrington’s heritage is important to people with the aim of creating a series of poetic interventions that trace the town’s past to remember occasions, memories and characters, to help shape its future.
Residents can visit the council website www.warrington.gov.uk to complete the survey.
Anyone interested in getting involved in the project should contact Louisa Shand, public art officer on 01925 442838 or email [email protected].

  1. A week doesn’t seem very long to get people’s feedback in support of Heritage Lottery Funding. Where is the online survey on the councils website as I can’t find it anywhere. I found page about it on there (published 22 June and closing date 29 June) but no link to the actual survey. AARGH !!!! .

  2. A bit odd that “The borough council wants to find out what aspect of Warrington’s heritage is important to people”…… when the people raised objections about the likes of Bewsey Old Hall being developed into flats; the council just ignored them and that along with the councils track record on preserving our towns heritage….will make for an interesting report!
