  1. There should be a limit on the term of office Parish Councillors are permitted to serve, say two consecutive terms of four years and enforced break of at least four years before becoming a PC again. This will hopefully bring new blood where it’s patently needed and put a stop cosy cabals shaped in party lines, which have no place on Parish Councils. I also consider that councillors should not be allowed to serve as Parish and Borough representatives at the same time, because there is very often a conflict of interest, between the interests of the local community (paramount for a PC) and party political allegiances (upper most for BCs) which is not healthy for local democracy.
