Foster carers desperately needed

LONG-term foster carers are desperately wanted in Warrington – where more than 220 children are in care.
Many of the youngsters are already placed with foster carers, but many more long term foster carers are need.
There are many reasons why children in care may not be able to stay at home with their families.
Whatever the reason, they rely on the support and commitment of foster carers to offer them a safe and loving home while maintaining the important relationship they have with their family.
Foster carers don’t need any special training or qualifications – the borough council provide that along with weekly allowances and support.
But they do need time, space, enthusiasm and commitment to make a real difference to the life of a child or young person.
Cllr Colin Froggatt, the borough council’s executive member for children and young people’s services, said: “Becoming a long term foster carer can make a huge difference to the life of the child or young person you look after and we’ll support you every step of the way.”
