WARRINGTON Wolves’ legend Mark Forster is set to pull on the GB jersey again to face the Pakistan national team in their first ever international.
Forster, aged 47, will be part of a Great Britain over 35s team to face Pakistan in Dubai at the end of November, before representing his country again in a 9s competition the following weekend.
He played most of his career at wing or centre scoring 769 points between 1983-2000 – and is the 4th in the list of all time try scorers.
Forster, who now works as a builder, still plays for the Bank Quay Bulls as a centre or second rower, alongside his sons Daniel, 23 and Chris 22 and is relishing the prospect of pulling on the Great Britain shirt again.
He created history as the only Rugby League player to be awarded two testimonials following a 20 year career with the Wolves – a record which is unlikely to ever be repeated.
Now he is looking for local businesses to help sponsor him towards his £600 costs to compete for Great Britain again.
Meanwhile next year he is planning to fly out to the Gambia with the Youth Federation to coach rugby league, while at the same time passing on his building skills.
Any one who would like to sponsor “Foz can do so by emailing him at [email protected]
