Wolves prepare for title showdown

WARRINGTON Wolves’ Coach Tony Smith is giving his injured players until

Friday to prove their fitness for Sunday’s title showdown with

Challenge Cup winners Wigan Warriors at the Halliwell Jones Stadium this Sunday, kick off 12.45pm.
But Skipper Adrian Morley will definitely miss the important match, which Warrington must win if they have any chance of finishing top of the table, as he is still suffering with vision problems after being injured during the clash with St Helens earlier in the season.
Smith says he does not intend to rush Morley back and although there has been some improvement in Morley’s condition, “a player’s health is more important than any game.”
The club is considering different treatment options for his condition.
Second rower Ben Westwood will also be missing alongside the suspended David Solomona, who has also suffered a broken finger and would have probably missed the game any way.
Smith is hopeful Westwood will be able to return if Warrington “stay in the competition long enough!”
There is better news on Simon Grix and Brett Hodgson, who have a chance of being back and Smith says he is giving them until Friday to prove their fitness.
A few tickets still remain in the West Stand for Sunday’s game.
A full video update from Tony Smith including his thoughts on the clash with Wigan and the end of season play-offs will be uploaded tomorrow.
