GIANT pictures encompassing the three Olympic values of friendship, respect and excellence are featured in a Warrington exhibition.
The art exhibition at Orford Park, Winwick Road, which will be launched tomorrow (Thursday), is created by a range of local community groups and has helped them reconnect with their neighbourhood.
Young people from the Reach project worked with groups of all ages to help them create a piece of art for their area.
The large-scale art exhibit includes seven giant pictures encompassing the three Olympic values and the four Paralympic values of determination, courage, equality and inspiration. The project aims to show how these values can be used in everyday life to build stronger communities.
The art work will be displayed at the front of Orford Park so that everyone driving or walking by can enjoy it.
The initiative is organised by Warrington Borough Council and the Reach project, together with St Andrew’s Primary, Orford Library community management board, Creative Remedies, Planet Blue, and ONE (Orford Neighbourhood Enterprise).
Deputy leader of the council Cllr Mike Hannon said: “The art work that is displayed is really fantastic and ties in with the important Olympic legacy Orford Park is already bringing to Warrington.
“I’m particularly delighted that this project has helped everyone who created it to feel more connected to their local community.”
