AN apprentice from Warrington has been honoured at an awards ceremony for her outstanding contribution to learning development.
Gemma Davis, (pictured) a 19-year-old care assistant, was presented with the award of Health and Social Care Apprentice of the year by her training provider, Alliance Learning, at their annual awards evening.
Currently undertaking her Health and Social Care apprenticeship with Warrington based Lime House, Gemma began her placement as a volunteer with the care home. She has since secured full time employment and is said to be “a valuable asset to the company”.
Learning and development officer Joyce Reade said Gemma had given her own time to attend the centre for extra training sessions and had put 100 per cent effort into gaining her qualification.
Gemma’s employer, Kath Hurst said: “Gemma’s confidence has grown significantly over the past four years and I am extremely proud of her achievements. I will always give my full support to Gemma in whatever she decides to do in the future.”
As recognition of her achievement, Gemma received a £50 cheque from Alliance Learning and a £50 cheque from Lime House.
During the event, more than £860 was raised in a charity raffle with all proceeds divided equally between Bolton Hospice and the Alzheimer’s society.
