SOLID performances from both Warrington Wolves Handball Academy goalkeepers gave the rest of the team a sturdy platform for success in their match against Bedford.
National Division One player, Andy Clarke, described the efforts of both Alex Bradley and Jamie Simpson as “flawless.” The opposition only managed to net one goal past a brilliantly organised Wolves defence.
There was no shortage of goals at the other end as the Wolves offence was equal to their first class defence. They converted 16 chances and the game ended 16-1 to the young Wolves side.
In their second clash, the Wolves faced Cardinal Griffin. Again, they played some fantastic flowing handball but a few technical errors let them down.
The game was neck and neck throughout and had it not been for a few poor finishes from the Wolves, the outcome could have been very different. But as the final whistle blew the scores read 16-15 to Cardinal.
Over the two matches, Callum McKenzie was named most important player due to his solid performance in front of both his own goal and the oppositions.
