HUNDREDS of classic vehicle enthusiasts and families turned out at the Tim Parry Community Centre in Great Sankey, Warrington, on Sunday for the popular Classic Car and Bike Show.
The annual event brought together an impressive collection of classic cars, motorcycles and scooters, giving visitors the chance to admire vehicles from different eras and chat to their proud owners.
The show, which ran from 10 am to 4 pm, was also billed as a day of family entertainment, fundraising and community spirit, with charity stalls and refreshments adding to the attractions.
Emergency services were also represented, with police, fire crews and Blood Bikes expected to attend, subject to operational commitments.
The community café provided refreshments throughout the day, while local Girl Guides hosted a quieter area offering cream teas and freshly baked scones.
There was also plenty of opportunity for visitors to get close to the vehicles, talk to exhibitors and find out more about the stories behind some of the cars and bikes on display.
Organiser Nigel Catlow had previously said the event was about bringing enthusiasts, families and the wider community together while supporting local charitable causes.
The show has become an increasingly popular fixture at the Tim Parry Community Centre, with the organisers welcoming exhibitors from across the region.
The event also highlighted the continuing popularity of classic vehicles, with owners proudly preserving cars and motorcycles that have become an important part of Britain’s motoring heritage.
With its mixture of classic vehicles, community groups, refreshments and fundraising, yesterday’s gathering provided a relaxed family day out at Great Sankey – and another successful chapter for the local Classic Car and Bike Show.
