Fire death not suspicious – police

POLICE have ruled out foul play following the death of a man in a house fire at Warrington.
A joint investigation has been carried out by police and fire investigation officers following the blaze a house in Sycamore Lane, Greater Sankey on Tuesday afternoon (January 18). It has concluded there are no suspicious circumstances.
The fire is believed to have started in an upstairs room and was extinguished by fire crews after about an hour.
The 46-year-old man’s body was found in the house. He has been formally identified and next of kin have been informed, but police are not releasing his name until after the coroner has received evidence of identification.
A report is currently being prepared for the coroner.
