£3790 seems an awful lot of money for only 19 hanging baskets and 15 planters. How much maintenance do they need and who gets paid for doing it ? Who supplies the plants ? My suggestion would be that they ask about having the baskets and planters filled for free (or at a much reduced rate) and put the suppliers name on a little plaque.. free advertising 🙂 Surely the parish councillors or someone else could dead head them when necessary and the local shops could easily water them if they are hanging outside their premises ! Simples and all FREE(ish) 🙂
Councils don’t do free Dizzy…. they have to spend somebody elses money on stuff because they don’t see free as a viable option!
Yes but by using a bit of brains they could then use the money for something more IMPORTANT and beneficial to the community.
The same company is providing the service to Lymm Parish Council ie all their hanging baskets, planters, troughs and window boxes but Lymms is £2557 !?! Maybe they don’t have as many as SH but not a bad income for the supplier eh
