Horrendous parking problem

PARKING in a village street was “horrendous” over the Easter holidays according to a Stockton Heath parish councillor.
Coun Sonia Boggan complained about parking in Fairfield Road. She said traffic was reduced to single file from the traffic lights to Alexandra Park. She was concerned about access for emergency vehicles.
Coun Graham Roughsedge said that previously when double yellow lines had been suggested for the road, residents had opposed them.

  1. I love the pompous people of Stockton Heath, Appleton, Lymm… “our village” LOL! Must dash to orford Village hall theres a Village fate !

DICDEF:A small group of dwellings in a rural area, usually ranking in size between a hamlet and a town.

How quaint Stockton Heath “Village” Nestled lovingly between the Manchester ship canal and Morrisons, local residents often moor their yachts on nearby Ackers Pit and enjoy the country aroma of the Tannery..Get over yourself love you live in a suburb of Warrington along with the rest of us.

  2. richiepoo,

I’ve got news for you. We call Latchford a village as well. Leave them alone, they’re not doing you any harm and they have every reason to complain about the cars and eating places.

  3. richipoo… Stockton Heath is more like a Town all squashed into a small area and its certainly isn’t a quant little village or hamlet like Lymm so no idea where you got that idea from. Have you ever tried to park in the SH at weekends or driven down all the roads with cars parked on every available inch? Would you like to have to drive round all the streets looking for somewhere to park or be forced to park and pay on the local carpark and walk home because you can’t get anywhere near your own home due to all the people coming into the village for the ‘night life’ . I feel really sorry for the people who live in all the houses and small roads around the ‘village’ centre.

  4. Fairfield road…thats the one that runs alongside the canal Isn’t it? Just Virtualy drove down it on google maps, nice clear road…and always has been when I have drove down it in real life. But That aside I do feel for them if they are having problems, Its just the fact they think they are a village makes me laugh.
