Nick Clegg arrives in town

LIBERAL Democrat leader Nick Clegg visited Warrington Wolves’ Haliwell Jones Stadium today – fresh from his appearance on the historic first-ever live televised debate between party leaders.
His visit, in support of Warrington South Liberal Democrat Parliamentary candidate Jo Crotty, underlined the importance the party attach to the constituency.
Mr Clegg and Ms Crotty were visiting Warrington Wolves’ Halliwell Jones Stadium where they were meeting people involved in the club’s highly praised community programme.
Mr Clegg spoke to the media and Liberal Democrat supporters outside the stadium before having a tour of the community floor by Wolves Chief Executive Andy Gatcliffe and Wolves Foundation Director Neil Kelly.
He took the opportunity to meet users of the community floor in both the Horizons Place pupil referral unit and the Heath & Wellbeing room.
The opinion of many political commentators is that Mr Clegg acquitted himself well in the televised debate in Manchester last night, with opinion polls showing him to be a clear winner on his TV performance.

Picture show Nick Clegg arriving at the Halliwell Jones with Jo Crotty and meeting Andy Gatcliffe who is also pictured with council leader Ian Marks and the Challenge Cup.

  1. It’s a pity that Ian Marks hasn’t more pressing matters to deal with, like gettng the council back on track after the recent turmoil and dis-organisation.

  2. If you look at the two photos above which show Jo Grotty and Cleggy together; they both have exactly the same expression……. first one shows a smiley type look and the second shows a glum and concerned look….. maybe that’s where Jo learned the myriad of expressions she uses when posing for photos next to dog poo and pointing at Omega signs!!
