Help needed for nesting birds

RESIDENTS living near a Warrington park are being asked to help nesting birds while a £30 million improvements package is carried out.
Work is progressing on the Orford Park project and a number of trees will soon have to be removed as building begins. A new tree will be planted for each removed after construction is completed.
A council spokesperson said: “With several species of birds looking for nesting places soon, this is an ideal opportunity for people to see nature close up by hanging up bird boxes in their gardens.”
Boxes are available at a low cost from the nearby charity-run Long Lane Garden Centre.
