WARRINGTON Wolves and the Wolves Foundation have teamed up with NHS Warrington to launch a new Tackling Health campaign.
The new partnership will see all the three organisations working together to promote health messages to fans, highlighting the importance of fitness and good health.
The campaign aims to benefit all rugby supporters living in the Warrington area. Numerous players from the Warrington Wolves will be ambassadors for the campaign, involved in talking about various health topics, their own experiences and passing health advice on to fans.
Forthcoming home rugby matches will raise awareness about important health topics such as smoking, bowel cancer, men’s health and alcohol. Games will include free giveaways, health information and where to go for advice and half time entertainment suitable for all ages.
Director of the Warrington Wolves Foundation, Neil Kelly said: “The Wolves Foundation is delighted to be working in partnership with NHS Warrington and the Wolves. By combining the expertise and strengths of our three organisations, we can make a real positive impact on the health of our town.”
Brian Carney, Player Welfare and Services Officer, added: “It is great to see the club getting involved in such an important and necessary campaign. We urge all supporters to take advantage of the services offered on match days and make sure, if nothing else, that you look after your health.”
Nicky O’Connor NHS Warrington’s Chief Executive echoed this and commented:“Tackling Health is an excellent opportunity to actively promote health messages whilst continuing to enhance the health of our local population and communities. We are very much looking forward to working with all parties involved.”
Throughout the season fans will be able to get health information from the Warrington Wolves, Wolves Foundation and NHS Warrington’s website, plus information and updates will also be available on Facebook.
