Pupils to be environment agents

0

SCHOOLCHILDREN will again get the chance to become environmental agents for Warrington Watt Watchers.
The award-winning programme is offering schools the chance to take part in its interactive energy project.
Last year the project was a huge success with more than 1,000 children getting involved.
Pupils from St Monica’s Catholic Primary School have already been involved this year and are now official environmental agents! They will be visited by the Mayor, Coun Brian Axcell, on February 22, when he will present them with certificates.
Watt Watchers aim is to get young people thinking about energy; where it comes from, how much is used and how to be more energy efficient.
The free one hour presentation includes an interactive experiment, workbooks with puzzles, a survey so pupils can find out how energy efficient their home is and environmental agent ID badges.
