Driver dies after motorway crash

A MOTORIST has died after a single-vehicle crash on the M6 near Warrington.
The man was airlifted from the scene of the crash on the northbound carriageway closed to Junction 21 – close to the intersection with the M62. But he was found to be dead later at Warrington Hospital.
His silver Mazda 6 estate car was in collision with the central reservation, with no other vehicle involved in the incident.
The M6 was closed for some time and long tailbacks of traffic formed.
Police have not yet released the man’s identity.
