The benefits bus is back

A MOBILE benefits advice centre will be open for business in Warrington town centre from Monday, February 15 to Friday, February 19.
The “benefits bus” will be open from 10am to 3pm daily, outside Warrington Market, offering advice to local people who believe they are entitled to benefits.
Even people who have never been entitled to claim any benefits before may find it worth finding out what they are entitled to – especially if their circumstances have changed recently.
Every year millions of pounds of benefit go unclaimed across the UK – and local people could be entitled to some of it.
No appointment necessary to use the benefits bus which is equipped with disabled access, a private interview room and satellite and internet access which allows for immediate benefit estimates to be made.
The benefits bus has been in operation for four years across the region and is proving very successful. The last visit to Warrington in October led to benefit payments of more than £86,000 and one local resident who used the service gained more than £6,500 in unclaimed benefits.

  1. Should we really be spending money advising people who are too stupid to help themselves? Benefits are available – if you don’t claim them it is nobody’s fault but your own
