Students stage festive epic

TALENTED performing arts students staged an epic Christmas showcase over three nights.
Youngsters from Warrington’s Priestley College took their own parts in a total of 22 pieces showcasing the strength of Performing Arts, Production Arts, Dance, Drama and Music at the College.
It was a key time, specifically for the second year students in the production, for who the production was one of their final opportunities to obtain the high grades desired by leading universities.
The night also had a special edge to it, in that money raised from ticket sales was donated to the college’s in-house Mozambique Challenge, which is planning to send a student group to Africa to build houses for children orphaned by AIDS next summer.
Second year student Chris Phillips, who has up and coming auditions for places at both RADA and Guilford, said: “The showcase was a really great opportunity to perform all our hard work to the public.
“It was great to be able to work alongside all the other students from different courses and I could tell from the reaction of the audience that they really enjoyed themselves.”
