Poppy thieves are lowest of the low

THIEVES who stole a poppy appeal charity collection box from a Warrington store have been branded ‘the lowest of the low’ by a veteran British Legion campaigner.
Raymond Massey, 83, president of the Royal British Legion in Lymm was disappointed to hear that a collection box had been snatched from the till of a Warrington shop.
The theft happened at the Co-op Late Shop, Warrington Road, Penketh on November 27 at 18:35pm. Police want to trace the men pictured.
Raymond said: “It so sad but it happens every year. It’s such a shame because people are so generous that the boxes often have quite a lot of money in. One year we had seven stolen in Lymm.
“Now we have special tape to fasten them to the tills to try to stop this happening. Anyone who steals from charity is the lowest of the low.”
Anyone who recognises the men pictured should contact PCSO Richard Unsworth at Great Sankey Police Station on 0845 458 0000.
