A WARRINGTON student will not face the problem of loans experienced by her counterparts – because she has won an award worth £10,000 per academic year.
Student Charlotte Sant started a teacher training programme at Liverpool John Moores University having received a special Vice Chancellor’s Award.
Charlotte, 18, gained a triple distinction in her BTEC Sport and Exercise Science programme from Priestley College in the summer.
She then enrolled for the teaching course in primary and secondary education with the goal of becoming a PE Tutor.
Charlotte was just one of 15 students to be accepted on the prestigious course, and secured two awards.
She had already won £1,000 per year as part of Dream Plan Achievers initiative – and then went to an interview at her new university for the Vice-Chancellor’s Award.
She was given the award based on her academic talents and her volunteering work in the community.
Charlotte said: “At Priestley I took part in lots of volunteering opportunities in the community including Millennium Volunteers and the Wolves Foundation, which coupled with my results, more than helped me achieve these awards.”
She thanked Priestley staff for their support and said she was now looking forward to “chasing her dreams.”
