Planners hold back on takeaway shop

PLANNING chiefs are to visit the site of a proposed hot food takeaway shop before deciding if it can open.
Members of Warrington’s development control committee deferred a decision on the application to change the use of a shop in Martin Avenue, Orford to allow the visit to take place.
Nearly 60 residents have lodged objections to the proposal.
Objectors point out that there are already two takeaway shops in the row of shops where the new one is planned.
They say there will be increases in smells, noise, vehicle movements and litter. They believe the additional shop will have a detrimental effect on the area.
Planning officers are recommending the scheme be approved. They said they can see no reason for a detrimental impact on the area, nor traffic issues.
