Fourth time lucky for stables plan?

PLANS for stables on Green Belt land near Warrington are to go before planners next week – for the fourth time in four years.
Three times planning bosses have thrown out the proposals in Heath Lane, Croft – and three times the applicant has appealed against their decision and lost.
Now a fourth, scaled-down scheme has been put forward and planning officers are recommending it be approved.
But a nearby resident and members of Croft Parish Council have lodged objections.
The scheme is for the erection of a building for stabling of horses and storage of hay and the use of land for outdoor recreation.
The parish council says the site is within the Green Belt and the development would result in a dangerous egress onto Heath Lane. They also argue that there are already enough stables in Croft.
A nearby resident says the land should be used for agricultural purposes only and claims the building is likely to be used for the storage of a tractor and crane.
But planning officers say the building will be inconspicuous because it will be built next to an existing outbuilding and because it is smaller than previous proposals.
They believe there will be no damage to the openness, character or appearance of the Green Belt.
